It seems like it's more of a regional thing.. i.e. if you live on the west coast, "Product Design" means software / UI / UX design. East coast, it means physical products. (the distinction of UX is a whole other frustration)
I'm obviously biased, as i'm an Industrial Designer.. but when in school, (on East Coast) we always used "Industrial" and "Product" interchangeably. Some colleges even refer to their Industrial Design program as "Product Design".
I understand that software is indeed a product... but it is not physical. This makes job searching on the west coast incredibly frustrating.
Am I the only one who is totally annoyed by this? Thoughts?
Great design resource
