Hi everyone. I'll try to be brief, but I'm currently in the construction industry working for an engineering firm and to be honest I don't particularly enjoy it. Graphic design and webdesign has always been a hobby of mine and something I've really enjoyed. Some days it gets very difficult getting out of bed, dealing with the stress/anxiety, finding motivation...etc. I'm slowly getting more and more serious about attempting a career change.
However, I also understand that doing webdesign/graphic design freelance, or as a hobby, is a lot different then working in a design firm. I worry that the things I'm trying to run away from in the construction industry are all the same in the design industry? Though perhaps actually enjoying what I do might help?
I can expand a bit on what I don't enjoy about my current field if needed, but I'm trying to compare what everyday life would be like working as a webdesigner or graphic designer vs what I do now. What does stress look like the in field? What are the things you dislike the most and like the most? I've been doing research, but figured I'd ask here as well.
Thank you!
