Help with a Cover Letter?

Hello /r/design!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I need TONS of help. I'm trying to get my first design job, but I have no idea what I'm doing.

One thing I've always struggled with is "fun writing" and "professional writing" and in a career defined by how you make yourself stand out, I'm never sure if I'm crossing a line when it comes to cover letter writing.

Anyone have any tips? Examples? Help?
