Hey everyone! Sumit here. I'm a 20 y.o. self-taught designer.
Recently wrote a blog post about being a self-taught creative and dealing with Imposter syndrome.
Here's a TLDR: Self-doubt and Imposter syndrome is real and a lot of creatives, especially those who are self-taught often fall victim to it. Here are a couple ways to deal with it:
- Work hard enough to leave no space for suspicion.
- Learn and stay up to date.
- Get feedback!
- Work on your weaknesses.
- Finally, keep at it.
Most importantly, appreciate how far you've come and be proud of your work. Give yourself some credit and understand that designing is a process, rather than a concrete goal that graduations can guarantee.
I believe talking about these issues helps a lot in dealing with them. What is important is that we accept that we all grow in our own ways- and that is perfectly okay.

It's my first blog post so I'd love your feedback! Thanks!
