Warping questions, is there a good way to do these things?

Been trying to figure this out for years and across illustrator, photoshop and clip studio pro can not get it. When you warp text it does it in perspective in all programs. The blue lines indicate how it squeezes the letters towards the end. I want the letters to taper down in height but not in width, so the letter widths would be more like the red lines at the bottom. Any ideas? Ideally with keeping the text live, and something I can do in cs5. https://imgur.com/a/1iXsf

Next question, when I apply an envelope transform in illustrator, it by default creates curves on the nodes, I want them to not have any curve applied, hopefully this explains it-

Any ideas? The make with top object sort of works but is glitchy at times and manually adjusting is a lot of work to get it to look right.
