How to send data from one div to another on clicking the link, without refreshing the page?

Hello,

Lets say i have 2 divs. One on the left one on the right.

The left one is displaying this:

firstItem http://ift.tt/1LVNSvl secondItem http://ift.tt/1MOAIv2

The right div is showing this simple text "Welcome!"

So when I click the urls on the left, I dont open a new page, but instead send this information to the second div, and i'll just print it out. End result after i click the link is:

left div is still the same, right div is now showing "http://ift.tt/1LVNSvl" and the whole page is not refreshed.
