Are retailer specs really a 'law' or non-sense? pdq, qp, hp ,fp design for retailers displays... seem to have rigid conditions but the amount of exceptions makes me wonder.

I'm new to in store displays for the most part... but it is amazing to me that the retailer's criteria for displays is essentially a guideline and a majority of displays in the stores does not meet their guidelines.

wondering if you peps see the same thing? Going 'holier than the pope' to their specs will screw us over in costs while companies/designers who apparently ignore specs get love.

it's a weird space to me... thoughts?
