Stylized image light box doesn't work on Wordpress.

but when I put the code into my wordpress page, this is the result:

does anybody know how to fix this? It's driving me nuts. I assume it's some sort of styling that is overriding the lightbox.. I've tried disabling all the styles in the inspector, to no avail.
