Are you familiar with the term website "zoning"? Apparently, it's a French thing.

So, I work in a country where usage of French and English are about on par with one another and I'm applying to a position that includes some web design. The ToR lists website "zoning" as one of the activities and I never heard of it before. Googled around and found that the search "website zoning and wireframe" yields results almost exclusively in French. It seems that it's just a step down from wireframe... you define the content and functionality areas but you don't sketch out what is inside of them.

Anyone familiar with resources on this in English? And if you have further thoughts on what "zoning" is I'd be glad to hear them.
