So I just finished a site with a large image that covers the entire body on the landing page. However, I am having problems getting the image to load at an acceptable speed. I can't make it any smaller and I'm already preloading it with JS and having it fade in when loaded so users don't see it loading in. I've seen plenty of sites with images of this size loading in no time but for some reason I can't replicate the results. So far the only thing I haven't tried is using a CDN which I realize would cut down on the loading. Any suggestions?
