Hey had some questions for ya'll, let me know if I'm in the right place. Starting a site, need some advice.

Hey everyone sorry to crash your page like this, but I don’t know a lot about web design or what it takes to complete a site and I have a rad idea for one and was going to solicit my brother to build it, but before I ask him to help me, I wondered how much work it would be for him, I’m going to be selling merchandise and do you think a share of profits is good compensation for maintenance and the initial build? Please help me, any advice is appreciated
