Pagespeed had my site topped out at 83% because linking the bootstrap CSS file was render-blocking. So, I dumped the entirety of the minified CSS directly into the header and presto: 97%.
Now I have a giant turd of CSS code in my header - it doesn't bother me, but I can't help but wonder: besides controlling load order, why isn't inlining all CSS considered standard/best practice?
