RANT: Please stop putting United States at the top of a alphabetical list drop down list of countries.

This is so ridiculously frustrating, I am from the United Kingdom and it is so common to see United States at the top, I understand that the reason is because the majority of users are from the states, but where do you draw the line? Should you add UK, France, Germany, Canada to the top too before the alphabetical list starts? There is another way surely, we can think of an alternative because this method, whilst helping the states, pisses off the people from other countries.
