New to photoshop, Would like brainstorm ideas for this project

At my job, I pretty much create dashboards/reports that show the health of our products.

The background of the dashboard pretty much consist of a blue rectangle spanning the top of the page with the company logo nested in the top right hand corner. With the title of the report centered in that blue rectangle

I would like to spruce up my dashboards/reports by creating my own more slick background in photoshop. So, I downloaded a trial of PS CC and am pretty clueless on what to do next. The first thing I did was go back to putting a blue rectangle(company color) at the top of the page.

I guess im asking for brain storm ideas on what i should create my background to look like.
