Newbie here and having a hard time making a soundcloud button with soundcloud API

Hello /r/web_design!

I'm learning web design at the moment and I've decided to jump right in with helping a friend with his wordpress website. I'm trying to learn how to use the soundcloud API to create a button on the site, which when clicked will follow my friend's soundcloud account.

I just can't make sense of what to do first to create this button. I've read as much as I could on soundcloud about their API but I'm just confused. How do I install the SDK on wordpress? Do I choose Java or Python or...?

An ELI5 or link to some tutorial would be amazing, thank you.
