Should a Web Designer make their Portfolio by hand or based from a template?

What's your opinion?

I've heard mix reviews to whether a web designer (freelance, job seeking especially) should have a handmade portfolio or one made from say a Wordpress theme. Which would look better on you?

You could make a really slick portfolio based on a premium theme like Avada but would it look better to be able to say, 'this is 100% my work'?
