I picked hellowebapp up earlier in the year, hoping to learn more about web development. Coming from a design background getting into the web-development part was pretty strange to me but the book really spoke easily with me. To me the book is a must-have for designers getting into web-dev.
What is more, there is a great community of people around the book who support each other, help out etc.
Note: I am not associated in any way to hellowebapp, I just cant stress enough how great of a resource the book is. There is also another one coming out called Hellowebapp: intermediate concepts which I got through kickstarter - another great book so far.
