Is there a way to add a 'slave' section of content on different pages controlled be a 'master' code?

OK so I have a portfolio and it's using an html theme (wordpress would have been better but too late)

Anyway, my portfolio is a responsive image grid with mouse over text for eachportfolio item, it's a 16 image grid of html code that I have to paste at the bottom of every page, so there's about 20 pages of this section on my site.

Problem: If I want to update that grid (like add a new project or replace) I will have to copy + paste that html code over ALL 16 .html pages and re-upload them.

Would it be possible to just paste a code like "portfolio-section" and then that points to a master code file that loads the section from the master file, so I would only have to edit and upload this section once?

There's probably a name for this method I'm just not smart when it comes to the code side of web design, please forgive me.
