Recommendations on editing a website.

Hi everyone,

I finally got into website design/coding and I have enjoyed everything about it. I have picked up a lot in the last few weeks. However I need help with editing an existing website with someone I am working with. I was messing around making live edits in the Google Developer tool and was saving to my local computer as I went along. However, when working on a button using bootstrap I accidentally clicked it and lost all the changes (I do have them saved locally). I'm trying to figure out how to use Google Developer tools to edit the website I am working on and saving the changes I make in the element view. I do not have access to the actual source files at the moment. I tried Workspaces but it would not edit my local files when updating through the element. Is there any other online editor or local editor where I can use someone elses existing page but save the CSS and HTML changes locally? Thank you
