What program was used to make the OS X Yosemite dock icons?

I'm talking about the icons that look like this

Note the use of a blue/orange light source from above/under and the reflections on the edges of the rocket logo, this article further explains.

I'm asuming Apple didn't simply use Ps or Illustrator since it doesn't have advanced enough lighting effects to create icons like this.

I'm genuinely interested since I want to make my own icons with the same lighting/metal texture effect. I hope someone on this subreddit can help me in the right direction :)
