Hi Guys,
Now, I know this question pops up every once in a while here in this sub, be it in the form of a question like the one I'm here asking, or in the form of somebody casually asking who we think a good host to go with might be. But, as we have just wrapped up 2015 and are well into 2016, how do you guys feel about hosting companies out there in today's web landscape? All it takes is for a buyout or change of management for a company to take a quick dive, quality-, reliability- and value-wise.
So, who do you consider the winners and losers to be at this time?
Context: I can't help but ask this (in this post) after a phone support call on behalf of a client a few days ago with StartLogic hosting. What threw me for a loop is how they are virtually identical to Netfirms - their back-end is the 99% the same, their phone system (and music) is identical, their site is even the same (pretty much), etc. It wasn't hard to reflect on just how much I friggin' hate hosting companies, and how buyouts... or even the innocent passage of time or staff... can turn a once-great service into a bonafide turd.
Let's compare notes! :)
