I'm creating a website for a web design class and one of the grading parameters is making sure our site is section 508 compliant.
What tools would you recommend that would let me know how my site is doing AND tell me what to fix. I'm using SortSite and it's pretty awful. I run a page, it tells me to add alts for a bunch of links in my footer, then after I add it and run it again, it tells me not to use alts in the footer.
For those outside of the US, Section 508 compliance is making sure your site is accessible to those with disabilities. I believe adding alts and legends to fieldsets etc. help text to audio tools the blind use, for example.
